My husband and I love to travel. We love escaping for quality time together, sleeping in, and just overall relaxing. It’s also nice not having to wipe butts for a few days. This past month we went on two back to back road trips with the kids. We want them to get accustomed to traveling with us since they are getting older. Family time is so important and we are really looking forward to doing a lot of summer travel this year with the kids before Henry starts kindergarten (insert 400 crying emojis here). If you truly want to cherish your family quality times and the lives of your family, knowing safety tips for your post-pandemic summer road trip is an extreme necessity.

Having gone on our fair share of road trips, I thought it would be helpful to share what essentials have helped us have smooth travels! If you’re an experienced road tripper, you may have invested in an RV specifically for your travels. If so, you may be interested to see some potential texas rv trips that you and your family could take in the near future.

1. Necessities – First up are gallon zip lock bags. These are great for storing soiled clothes, small toys, and left over snacks. I would also bring grocery store trash bags. You have no idea how much trash can accumulate with kids in a car. It’s some kind of Harry Potter magic. Toilet paper, baby wipes, tissues, and a stain remover pen are also must haves. These items can all easily fit in a gallon zip lock if you bring the travel sizes. To get more storage in your camper, check the luxury sprinter van.

2. iPads & Headphones – Don’t knock it until you’ve have two screaming toddlers going bonkers for over an hour. Be sure to charge them the night before the trip and download movies, shows, and apps. Do not leave home without buying the best wireless earbuds under 100. iPads are no use if you have to listen to the Bubble Guppies theme song 326 times or hear surprise egg videos on YouTube kids.

3. Snacks are a must when going anywhere with kids. My kids don’t eat a ton of packaged snacks at home and we save them for occasions when we really need them (like waiting for a table at a restaurant). I like to buy new foods when we go on road trips to peek their interest and keep them occupied for a while. When choosing snacks for a car ride, be sure to purchase dry snacks. Nothing liquid or sticky because it will inevitably get all over their carseat and clothing. My kids are obsessed with Goldfish crackers. The grab and go snack packs are my favorite because they are already portioned out which means no overeating and no extra prep work for me. I always buy the Whole Grain Cheddar variety which has 12 grams of WG per serving. They are always baked with real cheese and free or artificial flavors and preservatives. If you’re needing some inspiration for snack ideas, head over to the Goldfish Pinterest page and their YouTube page for so many fun ideas.

4. Activities/Games – In lieu of bringing crayons and markers, we opt for dry erase boards and magna doodles. I also pack my almost 5 year old a ziplock bag full of tiny legos that so he can build things while in his car seat. For kids younger than 5, try a felt activity board (you can usually find cute ones in the Target dollar spot), lots of cheap stickers, and magnets on a small baking sheet.
buy amoxicillin online https://rxxbuynoprescriptiononline.com/amoxicillin.html no prescription

5. Cooler – We never, ever travel without one. A lot of hotels don’t have mini fridges and you don’t want to have to be running to the grocery story on short weekends away (unless you rented a house). We pack ours with milk, water, juice boxes, fruit, pouches, soppy cups, and all the dry snacks. It keeps everything fresh and contained!

To make things go a little smoother for your next road trip, I’ve created a checklist printable which can be downloaded for free below. I left some empty spaces at the end for you to add extras. I hope you find these essentials helpful for your next road trip! What are some of your travel must-haves?

Candy Free Easter Basket Ideas

I have to admit, I am pretty proud of myself for being prepared for Easter over 2 weeks before. Outfits have already been chosen and I have everything I need for the kids baskets and the Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Now if the rain could hold off this year that would be amazing. I don’t know about your kids, but mine act like wild animals after they have sugar. I’m talking bouncing off the walls, non stop laughter, and running around in circles. It goes without saying that this year I will be eliminating the candy in their Easter baskets entirely. One thing that has helped with this is to stay away from the Easter and candy sections at the store when shopping with your children in tow. I know it’s hard, but the saying “out of sight, out of mind” is really true in this instance. This year I have done most of my Easter goody shopping online. One site that I absolutely love for buying unique, candy-free gifts is Incredibundles.

Like most busy moms, I don’t always have room in my schedule to tackle the mall with the kids to buy gifts so anything that simplifies life is a win in my book. Incredibundles does all this work for you. You can choose from their already assembled bundles like books, toys, and bath time goodies or there is the option to make your own. Everything comes wrapped and packaged for you and can even be delivered directly to the recipient. Another amazing thing they offer is subscriptions to get something new every three months filled with products for each stage of development. If grandparents are wondering what to get the kids, or you’re looking for a unique gift, Incredibundles is for you. You may have seen on my Instagram that we have been taking some family road trips lately to cities near us and this Sleep Sheep On The Go is so perfect for cards rides and the pack n play. It’s soft enough to cuddle with and also provides soothing sounds to get babies to sleep. It’s been a lifesaver and beats having to pack a clunky sound machine (which we have been known to do!)

There is no shortage of books on their site which is perfect because Evelyn has been obsessed with all books lately. I will overhear her “reading” them to herself in the morning while I make breakfast and it’s the cutest thing ever. She loves picture books where she can easily spot and say the item shown. Incredibundles has a huge section of books which you can pick and choose from to create your own bundle. Now that the weather is getting warmer we love going in the sunroom to read, play, and work. Evelyn will spread all of her toys out over a blanket and go from book to toy to book. I love that she is so great at playing independently so I can get work done! She takes after her brother who was the exact same way. Now if I could just get them to play nicely together my life would be complete.

Natural Hair Care Regimen for Kids

Bathtime is definitely my kids favorite time of day (and mine because it’s one step closer to bedtime). In the past 4.5 years, I’ve definitely tested out tons of bath care brands on the kids. Evelyn has her fathers olive skin tone and my sweet Henry has his mama’s fair and sensitive skin. Needless to say, finding high quality products for my kids is at the top of my priority list.  I discovered SoCozy last month and they are the epitome of safe. Everything is made without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol, gluten, wheat or nuts! They now have a sensitive line called Hush, which is ultra gentle. Finding a hair care regimen that worked for us hasn’t always been easy. I’ve tried dozens of products on the kids but never seemed to have everything I needed in one. Since Evelyn’s hair doesn’t get excessively dirty, she really only needs a good shampooing once a week. Henry on the other hand, needs his washed every night. What I love about SoCozy is that it’s safe to use daily and will not irritate delicate skin. I also appreciate that I can use it on both kids during the same bath! You should visit here to learn more about how this is so important.

Henry is all boy and so is his hair. It gets sweaty and tangled so easily that he was getting to the point where he hated having his hair brushed. Detangling is the most challenging step in our bath time routine. The Sensitive Detangler is a gentle, leave-in spray that smooths and detangles. It nourishes and adds moisture to hair without irritating sensitive scalps and tackles those stubborn tangles. We went from tears to smiles virtually overnight.

The rest of the SoCozy Hush line consists of a Styling Foam, Soothing Shampoo + Conditioner, and Sensitive Scalp Serum.

The scalp serum is amazing since Henry still has a bit of cradle cap. I’ve been applying it twice a day for the last week and I’ve noticed less flakes and patches of dryness. The shampoo from https://www.barbieinablender.org/antifungal-shampoo/ + conditioner has a soft massaging brush attached to the bottle which helps lift away dirt, flakes and oil. plus supports the increase of micro-circulation and oxygen to the root, leaving scalp perfectly balanced and clear. The kids are obsessed with this brush and love the way it feels on their head. We’ve been using the styling foam the longest and I can truly attest to its greatness as it also works as the best volumizing mousse for fine hair. It’s lightweight and non-greasy and holds style even overnight. I no longer have to worry about Henry going to school looking like he just stepped off the hot mess express.

You can find SoCozy at a Target near you or shop online anytime, its often recommended in girls to combine the treatment with a hair straightener and curler. Do you have any bed time routines that make your life easier? If so, I would love to hear them in the comments! Happy Tuesday, friends!

Sibling Easter Style with Carter’s

This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Happy Monday! We’re officially in the last week of March which means Easter is right around the corner. It’s a little bit later this year (April 16th!) and it’s such a relief. When the holiday falls in March I always feel so rushed getting the kids outfits and Easter baskets ready. I’m happy to report that both tasks are already completed well before Easter and that’s one more thing I can cross off my list. You know I love finding stylish, affordable clothing for the kids and Carter’s was my go-to this year for cute and functional pieces.

I have loved Carter’s clothing since Henry was a newborn. I still remember getting the cutest little newborn onesies at his baby shower. In fact, both of my babies lived in Carter’s baby clothing for their first 12 weeks of life. Carter’s is a brand that truly grows with your children and they have yet to let me down in the past 5 years. When I needed Easter outfits for the kids this year, I knew I wanted pieces that could not only be worn that day, but also carry them through the Spring and Summer. Henry’s outfit is perfect for school, Church, and even the playground. Evelyn’s cardigan can be paired with nearly anything in her closet and the sateen floral dress with full skirt is even cuter in person. The best thing about all six pieces? They cost under $75 and can be worn for months.

Another thing that has always drawn me to Carter’s is their adorable and versatile shoe collection. Evelyn’s adorable bunny flats and Henry’s boat shoes are super cute and perfect for playtime. I love how their sizing goes up to youth sizing too. Nothing is more frustrating than finding adorable shoes online and seeing that they stop after the toddler sizes. They also are extremely affordable so your kids can look stylish without going into debt. Carter’s always has coupons to extend even more savings and right now they have a coupon for 25% off your $40+ purchase that runs until April 9 so that you can grab some Easter goodies too. Use code CARIFMAR online and click here for the in store coupon.

Wanderlust: 48 Hours in Austin

“There’s a freedom you begin to feel the closer you get to Austin, Texas” –Willie Nelson.

Our time in Austin is almost starting to seem like a dream instead of a memory. Returning to mom life quickly reminds me that vacations are way to few and far between. Our trips are usually short since the kids are still young but it’s still nice to get a little break!  February in Austin was gorgeous. No humidity, cool breezes, and plenty of sunshine. Austin is a outdoors city, so come prepared to walk, eat, and explore mostly outside. We rented a car because we were staying in North Austin and then making the 3 hour trek to Houston on the same weekend. Having a car let us venture to some places we wouldn’t have been able to see without one. It’s good to know that as of May 2016, Uber and Lyft are no longer permitted to operate in Austin, so if you plan on staying a while, renting a car is a must.

Where to Stay // Austin has all of the regular hotel chains if you’re looking for a cheap place to crash at night but I’m always drawn to the boutique hotels. We stayed at the Archer Hotel in North Austin {full review here} but there are plenty hotels downtown within walking distance to restaurants, bars, nightlife, and tourist attractions. When we go back, I want to check out the Hotel van Zandt or Heywood Hotel.
buy benicar online https://rxxbuynoprescriptiononline.net/benicar.html no prescription

Where to Play // Maximize the day by exploring Austin’s arts, music, historic and cultural sites. Our favorite destination was Graffiti Park (also known as the HOPE Outdoor Gallery). The concrete walls change daily and there are always graffiti artists (& non-artists) adding new designs. Bring a can of spray paint and add to the art. Walk up to the highest wall or park on the top of Castle Hill and enjoy the beautiful Austin skyline. The Instagram worthy ‘Greetings from Austin’ mural is on 1720 S. First Street.  Definitely swing by Jo’s Coffee on South Congress Ave and take a picture in front of the ‘I love you so much’ mural on the outer wall. Across from Jo’s is Amy’s Ice Cream which locals say is the best in the city. Zilker Metropolitan Park is huge and so beautiful. Walk off some of the delicious food, ride bikes, or rent a canoe and paddle around the lake.

Where to Eat // Bangers –  Known for their famous manmosa and abundant sausages, this classic beer garden has over 100 beers on tap and mouthwatering food.  Bangers is super dog friendly and even has a dog run for furry visitors. Be prepared to wait a while if coming on the weekend. Luckily we were there on a Friday morning and had a zero wait time. Come with friends and order different dishes off the menu so everyone can share. The jalapeño mac and cheese is phenomenal.

Voodoo Donuts –  I first visited the Portland location a year ago and it’s nice to see that the Austin shop is exactly the same. The donuts are mouth watering and definitely not your run of the mill chain flavor. Voodoo only accepts cash. Even though there is an ATM in store, save yourself the fees and bring some before.

Culinary Dropout –  This is on the North side of Austin located in the Domain. Order the soft pretzels & provolone fondue and then give me your first born. This was hands down, the best appetizer I have ever had in my entire life (and I eat a lot of food).

Food Trucks –  The food truck scene is like no other in Austin. They are all over the city and serve quality, restaurant style meals. We stopped for breakfast at Paperboy on our way out of town and it was satisfying and delicious. Get the B.E.C. Sandwich: Bacon, Pimento Cheese, Sunny Up Egg, Brioche Bun and you’ll be set until lunch.

Salt Lick BBQ – This technically isn’t in Austin (a 45 minute drive to Driftwood, TX) but this BBQ joint has locals and foodies raving. While some will tell you that Franklin BBQ has the best BBQ in Texas, when I asked for food recommendations from readers and friends, every single person recommended Salt Lick over Franklin. The service is fast and the restaurant is huge so we had no wait time (unlike Franklin which can have a line lasting hours). Request the burnt ends from Salt Lick … you won’t be sorry.

I loved everything that Austin had to offer. The fresh air, friendly people, and the endless activities. There is so much to do and I cannot wait to head back and explore other parts of the city. Have you been to Austin? If so, let me know what you loved the most in the comments below! Happy Travels!

Evelyn’s Room Reveal!

It only took two years, but Evelyn’s room is finally ready to share today! I say ready not because it took me that long to get it completed, but because I could never get my act together to photograph it. So, let’s get to it! The room is painted in Gentle Rain by Behr, which is a light gray. The trim and doors are a bright white. This used to be Henry’s nursery and we kept the wall color the same and added some pink accents (another way to keep on a budget … choose a neutral paint color). Since the room doesn’t get too much light, I wanted the walls to be bright. For those asking, How Much Does It Cost To Paint A 2 Bedroom Unit? Professional painters have already broken it down for you. The fabric for the bedding and window treatment was purchased at a local fabric shop and my grandmother made everything. buy celexa online https://rxxbuynoprescriptiononline.net/celexa.html no prescription
She is amazing and we have used her talents for several things in our house. The Madeline Dolls above the Jenny Lind crib used to be mine from when I was younger and they sit on a shelf that my grandparents built together. I love mixing modern pieces with items that tell a story. As you can see, there is no shortage of bows or shoes. Two things I have obsessed over since I found out I was having a girl. This is the smallest bedroom in our house so I use carts and shelves to hold her accessories. Petit Pehr make the most adorable nursery items. Storage solutions don’t have to be ugly when trying to hide toys or other items. I love how their bins can grow with Evelyn and stay in her room for years to come. I chose the grey and pink because they are neutral and can be used in the playroom at a later date or even in Henry’s room. Versatility is so important when choosing to buy things for kids. You want them to last as long as possible because in case you haven’t heard, kids are expensive. The bins are so durable and can hold a lot of weight. The Blush Pom Pom Hamper can hold so much weight and the sturdy handles make carrying it up and down the stairs a breeze. I use several other sizes throughout the room to hold purses & necklaces, diapering essentials, and toys. Displaying beautiful books can be like art, so I purchased some simple spice racks from Ikea and spray painted them gold. It’s fun to switch out the books that are currently Evelyn’s favorites. I love collecting little items I find and adding them to her book wall. She will sit in her chair for a full ten minutes sometimes looking at books and “reading” to herself. buy celebrex online https://rxxbuynoprescriptiononline.net/celebrex.html no prescription
Her main closet has all her current size clothing, blanket, hats, and socks. The second closet holds clothes for next season and more books and toys that I want to keep hidden. The cute little art prints were also in Henry’s nursery and are from Sugarboo Designs (where I worked before becoming a stay at home mom). Since the ceilings are low, I chose a simple pendant light, also from Lowes, which surprisingly adds a ton of light. I never liked those typical accordion doors that come on closets. I chose to remove those and added thick canvas outdoor curtains. It was such an easy switch and really updates the room. I also don’t have to worry about little fingers getting pinched in them! The hassle garland above her bed is from her first birthday party and the fan on her changing table I purchased nearly 10 years ago at an antique market. Ubbi World just came out with really sleek and modern diaper pails and this pink one fits perfectly in her room. I love all the monochrome colors and designs they have and they totally make me want to create a black and white nursery. If you’ve made it this far in the post, you’re in for a treat. I’ve teamed up with Petit Pehr to give one lucky reader a $100 gift card to use on anything in their shop. If you sign up for their newsletter, you can also get 15% off your first purchase. Giveaway runs until Tuesday March 21st at 11:59PM and is open to everyone! Enter below, good luck, & Happy Saint Patricks Day!

5 Spring Activities for Kids

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

What do you think of when you think spring? I think of longer days, warmer weather, outdoor play, and CLEANING. Something about the time change and sunshine makes me want to organize and clean. As much as I love cold weather and winter clothes, I happily welcome the adorable Spring and Summer pieces I see come out each year for kids. OshKosh B’gosh is killing it this season with their Spring pieces. I love that everything is adorable yet functional. My kids can play until the sun goes down and still look cute doing so. I chose a pink button up, flat front shorts, high top sneakers, and suspenders for Henry’s look. The outfit can be worn as is for church or a special occasion, or be paired with a fun tee without the suspenders. Evelyn has on an eyelet skirt, embellished jersey tee, knot bow sandals, and beaded bracelets to accessorize. Spring is a great time to get outside with your children and for the whole family to get active and today I’m sharing 5 of our favorite activities!
buy sinequan online https://viagra4pleasurerx.com/sinequan.html no prescription

Plant a Garden – Even if you don’t have a plot of land or a lot of space, you can easily grow some herbs or smaller vegetables on your patio or deck. Our local hardware store sells clay pots in all different sizes so I let the kids pick out a few to paint and then we bury the seeds together. They love it because they can get super dirty and I don’t have a panic attack. In case you need to move a big tree to give the desired shape to your yard, experts recommend using a tree spade for large tree relocation .
buy singulair online https://viagra4pleasurerx.com/singulair.html no prescription

Have a Bubble Party – If there is one thing I know that my kids will love all the time, it’s bubbles. They are so easily amused with them and have the best time. Plus, they are super cheap and you can get them at nearly any store. My kids will literally play with bubbles for hours. Hallelujah.

Make a Bird Feeder – Henry is at the perfect age for this and I cannot wait to make these with him. Our backyard attracts a ton of birds, so making some of these to hang in the trees is a perfect idea. There are tons of ideas on Pinterest for easy projects. Want to avoid the mess? Buy a birdhouse from a craft store and spend the afternoon outside painting them!

Water Balloons – If you live in the South like me, then you know our Summers can start as early as April. Last year we purchased the gadget that fills up 50 water balloons in seconds and ties them all for you … aka, the greatest invention known to man. Ever since then we (yes, my husband and myself included) are obsessed with it. It takes a lot of force to break the balloons so the kids end up using them as toys in the pool
buy strattera online https://viagra4pleasurerx.com/strattera.html no prescription

Donate Old Clothes/Toys – Okay, okay. I know most aren’t going to see this as a fun activity, but donating to those in need is a great example to set for your kids. Get them involved in the Spring cleaning and explain to them that unused items or gently used toys they no longer play with with will make another child so happy. Henry is almost 5 and has loved helping me with this lately. He is at the age where he can understand that letting go of something he doesn’t play with isn’t the end of the world.

OshKosh B’gosh has so many cute pieces this season. I’m obsessed with this ruffle sleeve tunic and smocked floral top for girls and this dinosaur tee and octopus swim trunks for boys. From now until May 6th you can save 25% on all orders $40+. Online code: OKBG3270. Retail code: 036602. Click here for the printable coupon. What are you loving from the new collection at OshKosh B’gosh this season? Do you have any outdoor activities that you swear by? Let me know in the comments below!
