31 Days of Halloween

I’ll admit that I can’t bring myself to watch The Handmaid’s Tale because it’s so sad. I don’t like kids getting separated from their parents because it legit makes me cry and become so emotional. That being said, over the past several years this Handmaid’s uniform has become so popular and recognizable. Luckily for me this costume was a breeze to recreate and would be great for a party or Halloween night. You can wear anything underneath is and pair with sneakers or flats. This costume is also great for friends and larger groups!

I was already painted green from another character and I decided to double up on the Wicked Witch of the West so I wouldn’t waste the incredible makeup my friend Britney did. That being said, I did not plan properly so had to make her dress out of pieces I already owned. I wore a black turtleneck under a black puff sleeve dress to give the silhouette of the witches dress. Her dress was ahead of it’s time and I would 1000% wear it out right now. I’ve linked three dress options below along with the hat and broom. This is such an easy and iconic character to recreate!

To be honest I’ve never really been a huge Scooby Doo fan, but I love Daphne and Velma. Their outfits are so cute and they’re such recognizable costumes (and very easy to recreate). Velma’s entire costume was found on Amazon and I actually love that I can wear the sweater and skirt again in everyday life. I’ve linked everything below, and this is one of those costumes where you can get really creative with it. Any orange top will work!

I love Halloween, I hate scary movies. What an anomaly right? I have however seen The Ring and always knew it would be an easy and un recreate. This costume from The Ring was by far the easiest one I’ve ever recreated. I didn’t even need shoes or makeup, haha. This would also be a super easy costume for trick or treating or a party because you can wear flats and be comfy in your white schoolgirl nightgown 🙂

Is there anything better than a Disney Villain? I’m adding to my list of villains I’ve dressed up as (Cruella, Maleficent, Queen of Hearts, Ursula) and first on this months list is The Evil Queen. I was pretty impressed by this costume in a bag from Amazon and it came with everything you need to create the look. I’ve linked it below as well as several other styles.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since the 31 Days of Halloween kickoff and we are back at it again! I spoke about this on Instagram stories, but this year I am really embracing the rough and ugly characters for the collection. What better rough and ugly character than Beetlejuice. I knew I had to enlist my talented friend Britney for makeup (check out her last years looks: Jessica Rabbit, Jack Skellington, Edward Scissorhands and Ursula). I could have definitely gone the glam route in terms of makeup and costume but I truly want these characters to be as close to their authentic versions as possible. We even shot this one in a cemetery for ultimate likeness.
