Five Things Friday

We are having some friends and their baby over for dinner tomorrow night, kind of like a date night but with babies. The hubby is making his famous shrimp tortellini (side note: this was the first meal he made for me. Ever since then I was hooked). I was was trying to find a good tray in my cupboards for tomorrow and noticed my collection was pretty weak. Womp Womp. I need to get me some of these amazing trays for parties! #3 is a set of antiques … if someone doesn’t snag them soon I might have to.

Mother’s Day/Last Week Follow Up

This past week has been very eventful … play dates, lunch dates, having family come to visit, a graduation party and of course (my very first) Mother’s Day. This weekend was very special and the hubby made sure to make me feel appreciated. Delicious homemade breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning, flowers both days and cards. The hubby made an amazing banana’s foster french toast from this recipe and I was blown away. My favorite thing though? Not having to change diapers on Sunday (it’s the little things). I am very grateful that my little family chose me as their mama/wife. How lucky I am to call them mine! Mother’s Day was also Henry’s first time in a pool and he loved it. He loves bath time and is fascinated by water. He could have stayed in that pool all day (it was heated too).  Here is a little recap of our past week, enjoy!

Five Things Friday – All about Gold

For years I shunned away from gold and refused to buy or wear anything that even resembled the color.  Perhaps it was in fear that I would look euro-trashy or like Mr. T. But lately,  I have been obsessed with all things gold, and now I can say that I’m a part of legit scrap gold buyers. When I saw the engraved bracelet (#1) I immediately put it on my want list (which is huge). I think it would be great to wear at Henry’s first birthday. We are on our way to a graduation party now but I hope everyone has an amazing Mother’s Day. We will be very busy as we have lots of family in town. If you’re a mama, be sure to take some time to yourself if you can 🙂

Current Obsessions

I hope everyone made it through Monday and Tuesday! Half way there … The rain is finally drying up and the sun is coming out. Perfect weather for a park play date/picnic today with a bunch of mommy friends and their little ones. Henry has been taking an awesome morning nap and is mentally preparing himself for a fun afternoon with his buddies. I’ll do a recap tomorrow 🙂 For now, here is what I am currently obsessing over (this list could go on and on but I will spare you from website/shopping overload).
Hatchcraft Frames using your Instagram pictures. All frames are made by hand in Colorado and I just ordered one Friday and it has already shipped and will be here Saturday. PS: If you like them on Facebook, you get 15% off your first order.
Not sure what took me so long to buy a legit outdoor blanket for picnics and park play dates, but I finally did. I love the geometric pattern and the gray/turquoise color. Very gender neutral and also “adult-ish” so you don’t feel like you are sitting on a swaddle-newborn blanket.
Adorable mini bows for baby girls (every one I know is having a girl). I bought a few for some friends who are expecting, hurry and get yours, there is only 1 day left!
My new favorite Etsy shop! They are local too, right out of Atlanta. We have a prints everywhere in the house; a gallery wall up the stairs, Henry’s bathroom and bedroom and the master. I wish I could add more to every blank wall in our house but then I think my husband would sign me up for “Hoarders”. Anyway, here are my favorite from Gus & Lula

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was a hot mess in Atlanta … and when I say hot mess I mean rainy disaster. We spent the majority of our days inside watching TV/movies and making food for Henry. Before the rain came in on Friday night, some fellow moms and I had a lunch date with our 3 little ones, I cannot believe how fast our babies are growing (sigh). I finally went to the DMV on Saturday to get my license renewed (it expired on April 3 … I know, I know). We made a trip to Whole Foods and stocked up on some great organic produce for Henry and even splurged a little on ourselves. The sun broke through briefly on Sunday so we decided to get lunch at CPK and Henry had his first taste of bread! The pieces were large and tough so it kept him busy for a while so mommy & daddy could eat. He mostly just gummed it anyway 🙂 We also scored some new big boy toys at Kid2Kid and then the most exciting thing we did all weekend … BOOKED OUR TICKETS TO SAN FRANCISCO! I’m so happy to finally have a date set (August) and something to look forward to. Jan and I haven’t been away together since our honeymoon and can’t wait to have a grown up vacation. Below are some pictures from the weekend. I hope everyone got some family time in.

Afternoons with Henry

Henry is growing into a little boy right before my eyes. He is developing his own adorable personality and really using/showing his emotions. I love his different facial expressions and it seems no two are ever the same. This mini human really blows my mind. Ten months has come and gone and pretty soon my baby will be a little boy. I am obsessed with trying to document every smile, laugh, blank stare, giggle, cry, yawn … you name it, there’s a picture of it. Here are some of my favorites from the past week.
