And That’s A Wrap!

This weekend we went to our last “one” year old birthday party for the summer. Henry has been to 9 birthday parties since May (and that doesn’t count the two we missed). This was our last one until November and it’s going to be a little sad not being able to celebrate every weekend and see our friends.  I have mentioned before how every theme has been different and how each one was unique and original. All the mommies have been so creative in planning every aspect and put so much hard work into all the details. It has been so inspiring! Below are pictures of the last three parties we went to. I love our mommy group and am so glad Henry has made so many friends. I really look forward to watching all the babies grow up and celebrating more birthdays. Bring on the toddler years!

Fall Bucket List

A girlfriend of mine and I were recently talking about all the things we wanted to do this fall. So what better way to put these ideas into action and make a Fall Bucket List! It’s no secret that fall is my favorite season and nearly everyone in Georgia is wishing for cooler weather. I love how Hobby Lobby, Target, Michael’s and even Kroger have busted out their fall/halloween decor (not to mention Land of Nod too). Below is my list of activities I would like to accomplish this season. I am a huge list maker and they are always more fun to make in photoshop with pretty fonts. Perhaps this list will get competed since it’s more enjoyable to look at. By the way, any Georgia people feel how amazing it is outside today? This weather reminds me of San Francisco and is absolutely perfect. I hope everyone has a chance to get outside and do some fun things without sweating your asses off!

Five Things Friday

I may be a little late to this ballgame, but I am in love with Brika. Have you heard of this site? They feature all authentic crafted items and a lot of exclusive pieces. They have the most adorable and unique finds and gifts, perfect for any occasion and price range. I know that Five Things Friday used to be sole Etsy finds but I feel like it’s time to broaden my picks. While I still love Etsy, I am finding a lot of people moving to StoreEnvy and getting their own websites. I notice that Brika sells a lot of hand made jewelry which I have yet to see anywhere else and also really cute baby items. Another plus is that all the makers of these goods are in the US and own their own small business. Check them out here. I think my favorite item is is the “Work Like a Captain” tee which seems super soft. I hope everyone has a great weekend! PS: Happy Friday the 13th! Our night will most likely be filled with scary movies and popcorn thanks to my husbands love of horror films. ugh.

Halloween Favorites

I know some of you may think it’s a little early to be talking about Halloween. But not me. I start thinking of costumes and fall time when September hits (and actually, Henry’s costume was decided on in August). I have always been a fan of holidays but now that we have a baby toddler, he makes holiday’s that much better. It’s so exciting to experience all the traditions again and start new ones. Even better are the adorable clothes for him to wear. Surprisingly I have seen a ton of cute boy Halloween clothes and not as much girl stuff and usually it’s the other way around. Team blue on this one! PS: Is it Friday yet? Henry has been skipping his morning nap for the past few weeks and started throwing tantrums. Yes, my 14 1/2 month old is throwing tantrums. More on that later. I hope everyone has a great start to your weekend! xo

Hello, Dolly!

A few weeks ago we welcomed a new member to our family … a tiny little 6 week old kitten who we named Dolly (short for Dolly Parton). She is the wildest, friskiest, most playful cat I’ve ever had. Her and Henry have become instant friends and he is enthralled by her. He loves to pet her and she loves to watch him play all day long. She also definitely loves her Daddy and snuggles up with him whenever she can. She doesn’t like to cuddle me, instead she prefers to scratch the hell out of my hands (see last picture). Dolly came to us at a good time. We recently lost our second cat, and I am not sure how. I got two kitties right out of college and had them for seven years. They were indoor/outdoor cats and I am not sure what exactly happened, but within the past year, neither one of them made it back home. So we have decided to keep Dolly indoors only so we never run into that problem again. Here are a few pictures of this doll baby. Enjoy!

Five Things Friday

Right around when Henry was 3 months old, my “baby” style for him started changing. Out went the Carter’s onesie sets, cutesy animal prints and matching hats and in came the leggings, cardigans and printed tee’s. Don’t get me wrong, Carter’s makes great/durable clothing and we have a lot of their plain basics, but the majority of their stuff just isn’t my style. I have been working on a post for months with my favorite baby and kids clothing shops but nearly every week I find more stores so I keep adding and adding. One day soon I will share my beloved shops because they are so unique. A favorite staple piece of mine is a great pair of leggings with funky prints that you don’t see at the mall stores. You can pair these with onesies, t shirts, cardigans, moccasins, converse, sweatshirts, etc. The list goes on. There is nothing that I’ve found that looks bad with leggings. Henry also has some plain black, grey, and striped leggings from the little girls section at Target! You would never know except for the fact the tag is pink. I love how most of the leggings out there are gender neutral so they can be saved for the next baby. Be sure to check back next week when I list my favorite baby & kid clothing shops. I hope you all have a great weekend ahead!
