A Floral Themed Baby Shower

From the second I found out that my best friend was pregnant with her second daughter, I knew I wanted to throw her a beautiful shower to celebrate baby #2! The whole saying “April showers bring May flowers” came to mind since the shower would be in May. Once I had a theme in my head, I went to work on sourcing unique items to make the party special. Etsy was my go to, as usual, because I love supporting small shops selling adorable baby girl clothes and finding one of a kind items.
The dresser and vanity are from an antique store which I found over 6 years ago and have been hoarding ever since. I hoped one day that I’d have a daughter and use them for her big girl room. This is the first year where I have been able to add them into party decor. I love the feminine touches that paired with the theme so well. They also have not been re-finshed so they have a vintage look. That amazing blue couch was my mothers and I have used it several times this year. It makes for the prettiest back drop!
Any get together with a bunch of women should always include a mimosa bar. They are so easy to set up, inexpensive and are always the first stop guests make. All the juices I served were from Whole Foods and I reused the Mimosa Bar sign from Evelyn’s first birthday.
The food spread consisted of pasta salad, garlic shrimp, assorted cheeses & crackers, sandwiches and a vegetable platter. I made some blueberry & lime infused water and also had plenty of non alcoholic drink options for the pregnant ladies who attended. I used vintage napkins that were my grandmothers to wrap silverware in. This was my first time using cloth napkins for a party and now I’m hooked. Adding personalized touches to any party or event is key to make a wonderful lasting impression. The favors for all the ladies attending were mini Pinot Grigio wines with custom labels that had the mother’s name to be and the date of the shower. Leotard Love

Is there anything cuter than a little girl in a leotard? The answer is no, there is not. Wearing leotards just for dance class is a thing of the past. Shops are popping up left and right that offer all kinds of options: flutter sleeve, tank, short sleeve, long sleeve, patterned, skirted, etc. There is an option for everyone and today I’m going to share my 3 favorite ways to style a leotard! My favorite shop for leotards is the Leotard Boutique. Their leotards come in every color, are adorable and fade resistant, and they are also 100% USA made! Option 1:

Patriotic Sibling Style

Happy Monday, friends! I hope all you ladies had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend, which started off the summer holiday season. Look at this little ham of mine. He loves being silly lately when I take his picture. All I have to say is “Henry, DON’T smile” and he starts giggling and smiling like crazy. Now if I could only get his little sister to do the same. I forget that around the 16th month age my kids stop smiling and it lasts until about two. Great.

Henry’s tank is from Gap last year and I am pretty stoked that it still fits him. I usually buy a full size bigger than his current age and shirts and tanks last him well over a year. He is still 3 years old but has been wearing a 4t since his last birthday. You know my love for knee high baby socks so I had to pair some with this skirt. They definitely add a girly touch when your daughter is wearing Converse to match her brother!

Floral Fever

I couldn’t think of a more fitting outfit for this post today since we are now officially in May. April showers bring May flowers, right? I recently ordered this framed print from Minted and I absolutely adore it. It’s going to be part of our bedroom redesign that starts next week and I cannot wait to share the progress with you. Spring Dresses Under $40

Can it be Friday again? This weekend went by way too fast but was so fun. We were able to celebrate with friends at three separate parties: a 3rd birthday for a friend of Henry’s, a co-ed baby shower for some dear friends and surprise 60th birthday for one of my oldest friends mother. There was definitely a lot of love this weekend and I’m so glad we were able to attend them all. The weather was beautiful and it had me thinking that Evelyn should probably have a few more dresses in her wardrobe. She wears mostly rompers, tops, shorts and leotards but rarely any dresses. Flutter sleeves with pom poms are all over the place this season. They add the perfect girly touch! All of these dresses would be so cute paired with jellies or converse, especially that black and white stripe.
