Five Things Friday

Happy Valentine’s Day! Today is one of my favorite days of the year. I think mostly it’s because all the decorations and food are centered around red, pink and hearts. I have indulged in plenty of red/pink/hearts and unfortunately I have pushed all this on Henry, so I hope he will not grow to hate it (for the sake of girls out there). Tomorrow I’ll share his yummy “breakfast” and the Valentines he I made for his friends.
I am currently loving comfy and simple items (hence the socks, backpack and salve) but that camera strap scarf has been on my wish list for weeks (particularly my Valentine’s Day wish list) … let’s see if I get it 🙂
The snow and ice are finally thawing in Atlanta which should make for a nice weekend, hopefully outdoors since cabin fever struck us hard again these past few days. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Valentine’s Day!

Henry’s Valentine’s Day Style

I always get so excited for Valentine’s Day. Mainly because I love hearts, red/pink and the decorations are always the cutest. Henry has a super cute outfit picked out for his Kissing Booth pictures with my friend Joleen next Saturday. We can’t wait! (I also ordered him a bow tie to dress this up a bit, and because every little boy needs a bow tie).
Before running to Target yesterday I had to snap some pictures of him wearing his new shoes. Matched with the wire heart and red stool, it was too perfect. He actually sat there and let me shoot for a few minutes (gasp!) Usually he is all squirmy and rarely stays still so I had to take advantage and got a little trigger happy.

It is freezing here in Georgia and although I would like to stay in warm PJ’s all weekend and drink Starbucks, Henry gets cabin fever so we may need to go out for a bit. I hope everyone has a great weekend and stays warm!

Five Things Friday

Happy Friday the 13th! I guess in December this date/day doesn’t have much of a scary meaning. And I doubt ABC Family will be playing any Halloween films. I still can’t get over the fact that Christmas is in 11 days. I think this has been one of the fastest years of my life. I hope next year can go a little slower. Last weekend we visited Seed Factory in Atlanta and there were so many amazing wooden toys for Henry to play with. He loves wooden toys, especially blocks and stackers. We ended up buying him the Double Rainbow Stacker (#3 below) and since then it’s had me more into wooden toys than ever before. Seeing how much Henry enjoys them makes me want to go chop down trees and start carving squares and pegs. Or maybe I can just browse on line and make collages. How cute is that bowling set below? Henry would have a field day knocking that over, since that is what he is into now. That and chewing on Christmas lights. Oh the joys of having a toddler 🙂
{I couldn’t stick with only 5 favorites and had to add a few extra!}

Five Things Friday

Happy Weekend! Five things Friday is coming from rainy Florida today. {We’re in town to see my in laws/ Henry’s grandparents}. Am I the only one excited about seeing all the Christmas decor in the stores? I tell you, it wasn’t more than a week after Halloween (and some even before) that decorations were popping up. Fine with me! Last Christmas was our first year with a white tree and ever since then I was hooked. I love the look and feel of the modern white tree and white and silver Christmas accessories mixed with the classic red. I just bought the new Michael Buble Christmas album and Henry and I have been enjoying it our car rides. It’s never too early for Christmas music and it definitely extends the holiday season. Here are a few items on my Christmas want list this year.

Five Things Friday

Can you believe Halloween is just 6 days away? Where did October go? As much I love this cold weather and the holiday season, it would be nice for time to slow down. My baby is growing up too fast and will be 16 months old on Monday. No me gusta. Anyway, since this is the last Five Things Friday post before Halloween, I thought I would share my five ten favorite Halloween ideas! Come on, could I really only pick five? And seriously, I cannot wait for Henry to ride a bike so we can do the ET Halloween costume (ok, I can wait).

It’s the last weekend of October, how are you going to celebrate?

Wedding Planning …

Jan and i recently got engaged (yay!) and for the most part, wedding planning has been very exciting. he popped the question on october 23 and already we have:

*picked our date (9.4.11)
*secured our venue (founders hall, roswell, ga)
*chosen our bridal party

*booked wedding limousine for venue arrival (visit https://dreamlimousinesdetroit.com/limo-rental/wedding-limo-service/ to get more information)
*had our cake and food tasting (most importantly for jan, choosing his grooms cake)
*met with a florist
*taken engagement photos a wedding movie with one of this wedding video packages
*ordered save the dates
* Buy the hammered mens wedding band

* looked at some wedding rings, e.g., cushion cut engagement rings (we visited sites like https://groovelife.com/collections/silicone-wedding-rings-bands to see their inventory)
*made and edited the guest list (which im sure will include more revisions)

I have also found a bridal company, allure bridals, which I love. They make the most beautiful gowns. Here is my dream dress by them:

Isn’t this such a gorgeous dress? The lace, the detail, the buttons …plus, it is only $972 (which is in my dress budget) from house of brides.

Am I getting too ahead of myself? I’m a planner by nature and I don’t want to be stressed out. We also have a tight budget, so shopping around for the best prices ahead of time makes the most sense, actually thanks to it I booked a marquee from wedding marquee hire gold coast so guests can enjoy outdoor activities. When you host an outdoor wedding ceremony, the trees, flowers, and another natural backdrop often offer all the decoration you need. Even if you add in a few personal decorations, decorating for an Outdoor Wedding Venue is often a lot easier and less expensive than decorating for an indoor one. If you have always dreamed of getting married in a beach, you can look for a Southern Beach Wedding Package that can help stage your dream wedding.

Next up on our wedding planning agenda is to sort out the entertainment. We’ve been looking online at websites like this for inspiration. Our post reception is going to be a lively but classy affair, so we’re thinking of hiring a jazz group.

We are also in the process of hunting down a photographer for the big day. Some of our friends who live in New York recently got married and their photographer did a fantastic job. Check out her website to Learn more about this popular wedding photographer based in NYC.

I feel like September will be here before I know it. I still cant believe it is almost Christmas! Where do the months go?

xo,
