Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was jam packed but oh so fun. On Saturday we hosted our friends Joleen + Ben and their families and friends for their son Benjamin’s first birthday. The theme was vintage story book and the amount of detail Joleen put into each and every piece was amazing. From the invitations (in a little Golden Book), to the handmade banners from book pages, the cupcakes in a jar, etc. The color palette was beautiful and everything worked out wonderfully (it wasn’t too cold either). Be sure to head over to her blog where she will have tons more pictures and details about this fabulous birthday. Here are just a few snapshots I captured.

Henry’s outfit: Reversible Beanie  / Milk Drunk T / Harem Pants / Cardigan (Target last year) / Converse (Nordstrom Rack, similar here)
After the cleanup and when everyone left, we ordered some Chinese, made a fire, put some music on and had some family time. Henry’s new obsession is to climb onto and into everything so he spent the majority of the evening climbing in and out of his lego bucket. Sunday was an all day family day. We started the day with a fire and some yummy Paleo Chorizo Hash, then took Henry to Catch Air so he could run around and blow off some steam. After some Publix subs we all had nap time, then finished the day with an evening stroll around our neighborhood. I’m so lucky to have a husband who values family time as much as I do. It is really important to us to set aside time where we can go on adventures with Henry and really soak up this toddler time. Before we know it, he will be a tween and wan’t nothing to do with us (tear). PS: Tonight we busted out Henry’s Christmas jammies! I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but Christmas is our favorite Holiday and we want it to last as long as it can.

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! xo

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was a hot mess in Atlanta … and when I say hot mess I mean rainy disaster. We spent the majority of our days inside watching TV/movies and making food for Henry. Before the rain came in on Friday night, some fellow moms and I had a lunch date with our 3 little ones, I cannot believe how fast our babies are growing (sigh). I finally went to the DMV on Saturday to get my license renewed (it expired on April 3 … I know, I know). We made a trip to Whole Foods and stocked up on some great organic produce for Henry and even splurged a little on ourselves. The sun broke through briefly on Sunday so we decided to get lunch at CPK and Henry had his first taste of bread! The pieces were large and tough so it kept him busy for a while so mommy & daddy could eat. He mostly just gummed it anyway 🙂 We also scored some new big boy toys at Kid2Kid and then the most exciting thing we did all weekend … BOOKED OUR TICKETS TO SAN FRANCISCO! I’m so happy to finally have a date set (August) and something to look forward to. Jan and I haven’t been away together since our honeymoon and can’t wait to have a grown up vacation. Below are some pictures from the weekend. I hope everyone got some family time in.

Weekend Recap

This weekend was absolutely beautiful here in Atlanta. High’s in the mid 60’s, no pollen, cool breezes … simply perfect for outdoor activities. Saturday was the big Atlanta Zoo trip that some mommy friends and I had been planning. The majority of the dads had not met one another so it was nice for them to meet and get to know everyone. Afterwards we all went to lunch at Six Feet Under and sat upstairs on the outside patio overlooking the city. All the babies were such troopers and well behaved! Some were even able to take their naps at the zoo or lunch. It was so fun getting everyone together and I am already looking forward to our group cookout in May!
Sunday was filled with errands, cleaning, relaxation, margaritas and lunch at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. We spent some time in the back yard (which was freshly mowed by the hubby) and also put up a new bird feeder. Henry even enjoyed his morning bottle beneath the azaleas. I’m sad this weekend had to come to an end and I am already counting the days until next weekend. We have our yearly garage cleanup where we check our garage and garage door for repairs and buy from Midwest Garage Builders our tools and avail services that we need.
I hope everyone got to get outside and enjoy their time together!
