Making Mealtime Easier with HelloFresh

Last week my family and I had the pleasure of trying HelloFresh, a weekly meal service which delivers seasonal farm fresh ingredients to your doorstep. They send pre-measured portions packaged in their own box which easily fit in the refrigerator. It definitely beats the stress of meal planning and hectic grocery shopping. My husband and I loved cooking these meals together. He is the cook in the family and really enjoys it. I, on the other hand, cannot stand it. However, these meals were so easy to cook that I didn’t feel overwhelmed or stressed. In fact, I cooked two of them without any help (pats self on back). I really appreciate that the majority of the buy vibramycin online no prescription meals can be cooked in 30 minutes and have no more than 6 steps.
I love that you can really customize your meals and there is something for everyone. If you are single, newly married, work full time, or have a family, HelloFresh offers a plan for everyone. You can even view the meals ahead of time before you sign up to see if they would be something you’re interested in (spoiler: you will be interested). I chose the Family Meal Plan for 4 people and it was more than enough for for 2 adults, a 4 year old and almost 2 year old. There are no spicy ingredients within the family plans but there is still plenty of flavor. I received three meal on the day of my choosing. They were shipped overnight so that all ingredients were grocery story fresh. My favorite to make was the One-Pot Ravioli Bake. I cooked it for lunch one day for me and the kids and it was so easy, not to mention the most tasty of the bunch. The meal that took the most time was the Sweet & Sour Pork. Luckily that was the meal my husband and I cooked together. Despite the length of time it took to prepare (around 40 minutes), the resulting dish was well worth the wait! buy topamax online no prescription

24 Hours in Athens, GA {with kids}

Last month, we packed up the car and made the short trip to Athens, GA for a quick weekend getaway. This was our first time staying in a hotel with the kids and traveling for the sake of getting away instead of having to make a long drive to see family. We arrived in Athens Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning so it was a pretty short trip, but felt like the right amount of time. We stayed at the Hotel Indigo, which was located right in downtown {full review} and since we visited during the summer, most of the college kids had left so it was pretty laid back.

Friday night we had dinner at Ted’s Most Best. Not only is their pizza divine, but it could not be more kid friendly. There is a huge sandbox right outside on the shaded patio with a ton of toys for kids to play with. My husband and I were actually able to enjoy our dinner since the sandbox entertained the kids. Since we ate there early, we also partook in happy hour, which is basically like Heaven on Earth for parents.

Saturday morning, we headed to Mama’s Boy for breakfast {read my full review here}. Be sure and get there early to beat the line! You will not be disappointed and it really is the best breakfast food in town. After induldging in some delicious southern eats, we ventured to the Sandy Creek Park so the kids could burn off some energy, get some sunshine, and swim before naptime. The playground and park are so well maintained and the kids loved it. Be sure to pack your sunscreem because there is not much shade around the beach.

After washing sand off of everything we own and napping for a few hours, we were craving some margaritas and headed to Taqueria Tsunami. This is basically taco heaven and they have something for everyone. Portion sizes won’t put you into a food coma and they have a kids menu too. We finished our meal and headed to Sanford Stadium to see the grounds and let the kids get out energy, again. Traveling with kids usually goes something like this: food, run, sleep. Repeat 1000 times.

On your way out of town, be sure to stop at Ike & Jane for some of the best donuts you’ll ever taste. If you follow me on Instagram (@chanelvanreenen), you know that donuts are a weekly must for our family. I love tasting new flavors and seeing the designs people come up with. buy tegretol online no prescription

If you live in the Atlanta area and want to get away with the kids for a weekend, Athens is an amazing place to visit. My husband and I definitely want to come back this Fall for a game when the weather is cooler *fingers crossed*. Can you believe this is the last week of August? I cannot wait for September and cooler temps. We head to Chattanooga in a few weeks for our yearly anniversary trip and could not be more excited. I hope you all had a great weekend. Happy Monday, everyone!

Making Mealtime Easier

To say that Evelyn is obsessed with Mickey Mouse would be an understatement. She could literally watch the show for hours at a time and it’s the only one that really captivates her attention. “Me-Mow” comes out of her mouth probably 100 times a day. I think if we ever took her to Disney World she may have a heart attack. When The First Years approached me about sending the Mickey Mouse Helping Hands Feeding & Activity Seat for Evelyn to try I was super excited because I knew she would love it. Mealtime can be a challenge once toddlers turn into picky eaters so anything that can help make my life easier I am all for. Since we finally purchased some new chairs for our kitchen table, Evelyn can easily climb up into her seat. Some days I will find her just sitting there waiting for food without me even asking and I’m quickly reminded how much I love her little personality. She is so enthralled by all the Mickey and Minnie items that surround her that I can get her to ear just about anything. She’s never said no to too many food choices but now she will spend at least 30 minutes eating instead of inhaling her meals like she’s in an eating competition. buy ventolin online no prescription

Pizza Nights are the Best Nights

A few years ago my husband got a pizza oven and ever since then we have been hooked on homemade pizza. Before Evelyn was born, we would have pizza night once a month with some friends, it was that intense. Now that Henry is older he loves to make his own pizza and add an array of toppings. Although we’ve had to refrain from letting him use candy, most of his creations are really yummy. I love seeing how he lays out the ingredients on the dough like a work of art. He’s really into putting things in rows so usually only half of his pizza has cheese on it 🙂

We’ve found that the best mozzarella is made by Stella® Cheese. Our favorite pizza to make at home consists of prosciutto, basil and fresh mozzarella. It’s so simple to make and always a crowd pleaser. Stella® cheeses are flavorful and combine old world craftsmanship with rich dairy heritage, dating back to 1923. From shredded to crumbled and sharp to sweet, the wide range of Stella® cheese products will infuse your meals with a hint of romantic flavor. Pizza nights are a great way to bring family and friends together for a laid back evening. They’re also a great way for young children to experiment with cooking and explore their independence. Henry loves to cook and is so happy when he helps daddy in the kitchen making pizzas. buy amoxil online no prescription

A Fatherless Father’s Day

If we’re friends in real life, or you follow me on Instagram, you already know that my dad passed away in April. I never expected his death to be this soon, just a month after his 56th birthday. I didn’t think I was at an age where I needed to worry about my parents dying. These past few months have been extremely hard, mentally, and I go through an emotional roller coaster daily. I still cry everyday knowing that he’s not here with us and that he doesn’t get to see his grandchildren grow up. I’m heartbroken to know that he’ll miss out on my brothers entire adult life. I carry regret around with me like a dark cloud. I’m constantly thinking about things I could have done differently. It’s been a tough couple of months and I know my journey of living without him has just begun. I hate that time has passed, because that is one more day since I’ve seen him last. People have stopped asking how I’m doing, which is no fault to them, it’s just a sad reminder that life goes on. Grief has become apart of who I am now. I’ll never be the person I was prior to April 2. I have always heard how the first year is the toughest. All the first holidays and first birthdays he will be missing is like a knife in the back, reminding me that he is permanently gone. buy priligy online no prescription
Dad –
This year will be my first Father’s Day without you. This weekend I will be flooded with emails like “How to Celebrate Dad this Father’s Day!” and a slew of social media posts of my friends with their own fathers. In case you didn’t know, I miss you like crazy. The thought of you not being here can send me into an emotional black hole. I wish I would have called you more, seen you more, made more of an effort. I wish I didn’t have to wish all these things and that you were still here with us. I still think about you multiple times a day. Often while trying to fall asleep. I try so hard to conjure up my memories of you so I can burn them into my brain and not forget. I’m afraid of forgetting you. I still feel like you’re going to call me anytime and tell me about the vacation you had just taken or say that you’ve been busy with work or that you’ve had a bad migraine the past few days. Sometimes my mind gets flooded with memories of you and I wish I could record them, like home movies to play back whenever I want. I still remember sitting with you moments before you walked me down the aisle and you, knowing how nervous I was, kept telling me corny jokes to make me laugh. I loved how you would say after every picture “How do I look?” I loved that always wanted a picture with me and I should have appreciated it more. Since I’m always behind the camera, I rarely get shots with my loved ones. You were such a wonderful father to Max and me and I wish I could tell you right now. I wish I could tell you one last time how much I love you and that I’m so grateful for everything you’ve done for me. I wish I could hear your voice and hug you. I know you are in Heaven with Papa and your brother Steve having a wonderful time. I can’t wait to meet you again. buy remeron online no prescription

Weekend Wrap Up

As usual we are so bummed that our weekend and family time is over. We had a lot of fun together and took advantage of the great weather. We headed down to the the High Museum of Art for our first stop on Saturday. The kids have never been to the museum before and Henry definitely loved it (especially running up the ramps to the top floor). They have a kids room which was all decked out with Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus actives and books. We have been reading those books to Henry lately so he got a huge kick out of seeing the bus in real life. I can’t wait to take them back in April when the Eric Carle exhibit is going on!

After the museum we headed to Piedmont Park so the kids could run out some energy since they had to be so collected and quiet in the museum. The park was definitely a popular spot since the weather was so nice but after Henry decided to jump in a huge muddle of mud and get his shoes soaking wet we thought it would be best to grab some lunch (and booze). We have drove past Henry’s in midtown on numerous occasions and always wanted to go there for obvious reasons and Henry loved it. He kept telling the staff and patrons that his name was also Henry and then spelled it for everyone. The food was incredible and we will definitely be going back. buy singulair online no prescription

On Sunday we ventured out to Mac Lab Bakery, which is known for their beautiful and tasty macarons. I had come across them on instagram and was pleasantly surprised they were close to us. We got there right when they opened which seems to be the norm when you have kids. The last thing you want to do is show up when a place is packed and you have a toddler and baby screaming and throwing food on the ground. Needless to say they were all amazing (and they are all gluten free and non GMO). The Nutella was my favorite of course and it was hard to pick one. If you are in the Atlanta area, I highly recommend checking them out, you will not be disappointed. buy symbicort online no prescription

Here’s to another week! The weather is supposed to be beautiful here and we’ve got some fun playdates planned to keep us busy. I hope everyone has a great one! buy synthroid online no prescription
