Five Things Friday – Easter for Boys

I really thought I had more time to prep for Easter but with my Portland trip and soccer practices & games the month of March has quickly gotten the best of me. I’ve been stashing a few things away for Henry’s Easter basket so that I don’t have to rush out and find things and run the risk of just buying junk and candy. Pottery Barn Kids is offering 40% off on all Easter items this weekend only. buy wellbutrin online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/wellbutrin.html no prescription
There are some really amazing deals, including these unicorn basket liners! Not really boy related but there is this Beatrix Potter Apron which is definitely boy friendly. Henry loves to help bake with me and for $19 this is such a steal. He recently found our stash of board games (Trouble, Monopoly, Battleship and more) and his been obsessed with trying to play them. However being that he is not even 4 yet he obviously cannot play them properly. One of his favorite books is Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site and I just came across the matching board game which is for ages 3-4 so that was a no brainer buy. Since he is constantly painting and playing play doh all of that has dried up so I found some fun new paint and play doh which I know he will love and want to play with at 6am. The last thing we are planning is an egg hunt in our backyard in which the eggs will be filled with Legos for him. He loves legos and the mini ones fit perfectly in them. And finally, because who doesn’t love fresh new bedsheets for Spring? These are the perfect ones for your little sports star! I hope everyone has a great weekend! buy sinequan online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/sinequan.html no prescription

Portland Part 1

Thursday started extremely early with a 4:45am wakeup call. I had to drop Evelyn off with my mom since my husband had to work and Henry had school. We beat all the Atlanta traffic and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. After catching up with the girls and a few cocktails, we set out for our Portland weekend on the 9:00am flight. One of the best things about traveling to the West Coast is that you gain 3 hours. We arrived at 11:30am PST and basically had the whole day to enjoy. The drive from the airport to our Airbnb rental was quick and the location of the home was ideal. Located in a residential area of the NW/Nob Hill district, the house was perfect for 4 girls. There wasn’t any street noise, traffic or random people walking by at all hours. If you are traveling with a small group (4 and under) I highly recommend this listing. Besides, having an entire house to yourself and splitting the cost with friends is way cheaper than a hotel.

Portland has an incredible food truck scene (over 500!) and there are trucks everywhere you look (view map here). We headed to SW Washington since we were starving and it took forever for us to decide. I wanted a sampling from every cart. The smell was so amazing and since I was basically ready to pass out, I could have devoured everything. I chose Mac & Trees since I love all things carbs and dairy and got the Blue Cheese Please: blue cheese crumbles, bacon, spinach, carmelized onions, breadcrumbs and a balsamic glaze. No joke, it is now in my top five favorites of all time (a close second to the truffle mac and cheese in Malibu last Fall).

After putting ourselves in a food coma we walked to the Ace Hotel to take pictures in the photo booth (I do this wherever I go and must have over 1,000 strips by now) and for a pick me up at Stumptown Coffee. Most of my friends know that I drink iced coffee year round so even though it was a tad chilly and rainy out, I still had their classic brew over ice. We wandered over to Powell’s Bookstore, their flagship location with over 1 million books, and got lost in the aroma of old paperbacks. I am a huge fan of bookstores and still enjoy reading a real book. Of course I spent most of my time in the children’s section and was amazed at all the kids books I had never heard of. I bought a few for the kids and scored some amazing vintage Easter books for their baskets. We did some more wandering and shopping around the Pearl District and the weather ended up being pretty decent so we were able to do a lot of walking. After working up an appetite (i.e., craving a beer) we stopped into Deschutes Brewery for some cold beers before dinner. I split a flight with one of the girls which had six different 4 ounce beers. My favorite was the Theory of Sourtivity, since it tasted a bit like champagne. No brainer. buy fluoxetine online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/fluoxetine.html no prescription

For Thursday dinner we kept it low key at Mother’s Bistro & Bar. We were exhausted from being up before dawn and this home cooked inspired restaurant was perfect. It’s no shocker that I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken: crispy buttermilk & spice-marinated chicken breast topped with country gravy and served with mashed potatoes. I chose broccoli as my side and it was the freshest broccoli I have ever tasted, even being from the South! The lighting was really dark so I couldn’t get any good pictures of my dinner, but use your imagination to figure out what fried chicken and mashed potatoes look like 🙂 buy lipitor online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/lipitor.html no prescription

Friday morning we all woke up at 5:30am being that we were still on East Coast time (this was 8:30 for me and I felt so refreshed since all my days at home usually start by 5am). We threw on some hiking clothes and headed to Voodoo Donuts in Old Town Chinatown to pump ourselves full of sweet before the car ride to Multonomah Falls (smart right?) There was no line at Voodoo when we got there which was shocking since every picture I have seen shows the line around the block. This was another fortunate part of our trip … we never hit any lines or had a wait time except twice. These donuts were so fun to eat and the Homer Simpson (pink) and Rice Krispy, Chocolate + Peanut Butter were my favorites. They also made a mean maple too! buy valtrex online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/valtrex.html no prescription

We had spent the first day Ubering around, thinking that split between 4 girls the price wouldn’t be too bad. However, with each ride averaging between $8-$12, we decided that renting a car for $35 a day would be way cheaper. We chose Avis Rental which was located right in Downtown Portland. It was easy to get to, the car was clean and they were very flexible with us extending our reservation and returning the car at the airport Sunday night. I’m not sure if we lucked out or if Portland is always this way, but driving in the city and outskirts was extremely easy. There was hardly any traffic and parking was never an issue. I highly recommend renting a car if visiting because you will need one and it allows you to see so much more of the city. It also allows you to get your bearings more. We were surprised how relatively close everything was to each other and how easy it was to get everywhere, which you don’t know while in Uber since you aren’t really aware of your surroundings because you are focused more on your drivers vampire fangs than the beautiful city. After picking up our car we headed East to the beautiful Multnomah Falls. The drive was only 30 minutes and if you are renting a car, making this trip is a no brainer because it will not eat up a lot of your vacation time. The waterfalls were so alluring and are really a sight to see. Photographs definitely don’t do this place any justice and I feel so lucky to have been able to see these falls in person. I haven’t gotten the chance to explore the West Coast that much but the Oregon coastline is simply beautiful.

After coming home to rest and freshen up, we went to get our burger on at Tilt. All the food is hand crafted and the gourmet burgers live up to their prices. Of course I chose the The Big Tilt: two chuck patties, bacon, egg, American cheese, pickles, tomato, onion and lettuce on a three layer bun. Yes, you read all that correctly. I am going on record here to say this was the best burger I’ve ever had. Paired with a cold beer and the handcrafted cheddar tots, we were all in Heaven.

We did a little shopping in Sunnyside, which reminded me of Little 5 Points in Atlanta, before going home for some R&R. Nap time definitely happened and it was nice to relax without having a baby monitor on my nightstand table or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse blaring from the TV. We had a late dinner at The Matador, one of the two times we had a wait because we didn’t make reservations and came at 8:15. Fortunately we found some seats at the bar and ordered a few margaritas which were some of the best I’ve ever had, not to mention strong, which was perfect for a Friday evening without kids. We all split the Queso Fundido and I ordered the Mushroom & Goat Cheese Quesadilla with Shrimp and it was the bomb. I’m a sucker for Mexican food and could eat it everyday, so it was such a relief to find some good Mexican while I was in Portland. The staff at the Matador were so friendly and the service was very speedy. This definitely stood out as the nicest staffed restaurant I visited on this trip.

We definitely packed a ton of food and fun into our first two days on the trip and now I am starving looking at all those yummy pictures. They get even better with part two of our travels coming later this week. Yay for Wednesday and warm Atlanta weather! xo, friends!

Monday Outfit of the Day

This Monday has been a tough one. I took the red eye home from Portland last night and got zero sleep on the flight. I feel like I’ll be recovering for a month (hashtag I’m getting old). Luckily I had two little balls of sunshine greeting me this morning and the Atlanta weather has turned out to be similar to what Portland was having so it’s kind of like still being there 🙂
Today’s outfit post features Vivis Jewels. I had my eye on the swan romper for weeks last year before purchasing it and I am so glad I did. The size I bought was 6-12 months and at 14 months, Evelyn can still wear it. The adjustable straps are perfect for growing with your baby or toddler. It’s handmade with a performance knit so it’s really soft and lightweight and almost feels a bit silky to the touch. I am so happy this still fits her this year because it’s a piece that I just adore. I’ve always loved swans and the geometric pattern on this print is truly unique. buy amoxil online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/amoxil.html no prescription

Spring is definitely here to stay which means Summer will be knocking at our door in no time. These bloomers come in several colors and would be so perfect with a casual tank or crew neck tee. As much as I love leggings and dresses, I’m pretty certain shorts and rompers will be the only thing Evelyn will be wearing this summer. Those and this flutter gingham swimsuit. I know her daddy said no bikinis, but this was 40% off and her little buddah belly will be so stinking cute poking out the middle. buy amoxicillin online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/amoxicillin.html no prescription

You want to be sure to follow me on Instagram (@chanelvanreenen) for a bow giveaway this week with Modern Piggy. They knocked it out the park with their Spring collection and even have a bow named Evelyn! A little girl can never have too many hair bows, right? I hope everyone has a great week. I’ll just be over here going through all my Portland food pictures and daydreaming about all that amazing city had to offer. Link Love

Happy Wednesday! Things have been pretty busy around here. I’m gearing up for my Portland girls trip so I’ve been doing tons of running around this week. We also just finished the kids fort under the basement stairs and it looks pretty awesome. If you follow me on snapchat (chanel.m3) you have seen some sneak peeks. I’ll be posting more pictures next week with it all decked out. Let’s just say the Target Pillowfort Collection will be making a ton of appearances.
Some things I’m currently loving lately:
Rosewater Body Splash. I picked this up at my local Whole Foods a few months ago after smelling it and falling in love with the scent right away. I bought a few extra bottles and keep one in my person, on my bedside table and bathroom. I spray it in my hair when its wet so it smells good all day.

This Merlot satchel. I love how beautiful the color is and the inside is a bright floral print. I have been using this for everything since it’s not too bulky and surprisingly fits a ton of things. I will be doing a “What’s in my bag?” post later this month featuring this bag and all that can fit in it. Bonus, it’s on sale!

For all my preggo boy mamas, how cute is this swiss cross crib sheet? In my other life I would have totally decorated my whole house, including kids rooms, in just black and white.

This sweet off the shoulder top will be perfect for our hot Atlanta summers, which I totally despise.

After hearing from friends about how incredible this is, I finally purchased the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Foundation. The coverage is so good and it really does look invisible on your skin. buy flomax online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/flomax.html no prescription

What would a post be without a unicorn find of the day … This Unicorn Rocking Horse is only $55! Seriously such a steal. Evelyn needs this for her bedroom 🙂

You may have seen on my Facebook page that I am hosting an epic bow giveaway in April featuring over 20 shops. Headbands have been trickling in this past week and they are all gorgeous! I love a good nylon headband that can grow with your baby from birth to the toddler years. If you are a girl mama or mama to be, you do not want to miss this giveaway.  These adorable bows below are from buy aygestin online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/aygestin.html no prescription

Monday Outfit of the Day

Hello and happy Monday friends! The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day here in Atlanta, which is great because I have a ton of things to cross of my list before going out of town. Why is it that getting ready for a vacation feels like a full time job? Perhaps to make us appreciate the time we get away that much more 🙂 This sweet romper featured today is from Girl with a Twirl Boutique out of Minnesota. I loved this romper the second I saw it. I was torn between that and these beautiful bright dresses which remind me of colored Easter eggs. Clearly I have an obsession with rompers because that is pretty much all Evelyn has to wear this spring, which is totally fine because she is just the cutest in a little bubble. buy amaryl online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/amaryl.html no prescription

The fabric is very sturdy and the attention to detail in the lace, side bows and back cut out are incredible. The lace and chambray give the romper a vintage and modern feel. The bubble on the shorts is just adorable on baby legs and the sweet button on the back is the cherry on top. This will definitely be a piece I will save forever and pass down to my grandchildren one day.  This romper is also under $40 so it would make a great shower or birthday gift. Pair with some blush or nude Mary Jane’s and a white bow, and you have the perfect outfit for Church, Easter or a party. buy bactroban online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/bactroban.html no prescription

Miss Evie is showing off her two little rabbit teeth which she is so proud of. She has been working on getting her molars in but still no more front teeth. I guess that’s a good thing because if she had them she would probably be biting the hell out of her brother for always taking her toys. Here’s to a wonderful and productive week for everyone! buy strattera online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/strattera.html no prescription

Five Things Friday – Rain Boots

With just under a week before my Portland trip I am feeling the urgency for some new rain boots. I bought some last Fall when it literally poured in Atlanta for 100 days straight but they are not the most comfortable for doing a ton of walking. I also hate shoes that tie up my feet so I honestly have no idea why I bought them. Until this past year we haven’t gotten a ton of consistent rain living in the South so I never really had to think about a rain boot that was comfortable yet not ugly AF but there are a ton of fun ones out there. It kind of makes me wish the rain would stick around but then I look at my house with two kids tearing it up because we can’t go outside and that thought immediately removes itself from my brain. The basic black are great for year round but the yellow and floral are perfect for Spring. The best part is that these are all under $100. Monday Outfit of the Day

Evelyn’s Easter outfit is so beautiful this year that I almost can’t wait another month to see her in it. This lovely twirl dress in mint dot is from the amazing Holley + Sage. Every piece is hand crafted by Jennifer in Charlotte and is truly unique. This fabric is lightweight and breathable which means Evie can wear is throughout the summer. I also love how the straps in the back can be adjusted to grow with your baby and this dress will fit her for at least another year. If you are a mama to two (or more) girls, the mint dress coordinates with this baby romper and would make the cutest matching combo.

Holley + Sage launches her Spring line tomorrow and I cannot wait to see all the sweet pieces. Jennifer used to be a designer for Pottery Barn Kids so you know her taste and style is impeccable. All of the blouses are on my Evelyn’s wish list for summer, those feminine ruffle sleeves are too much.

Evie’s flower crown is from the sweetest shop, Baker Blossoms. I have loved getting to know Sarah and her adorable twin girls through Instagram. Not only is everything in her shop so beautifully crafted but she will work with you to create your own custom flower crown, headband, bow tie, etc. I was trying to find the perfect head piece to match the dress and Sarah created this wonderful crown for Evelyn with coordinating colors.
