Combating Dry Skin & Diaper Rash with Skinfix Inc.

Since Henry was about a year old, I started noticing small raised bumps on the back of his arms and thighs. Sometimes the skin would be red and sometimes you couldn’t even see them. We have a nighttime ritual where the kids get to play in the bath for nearly an hour with various toys. Henry gets to choose a new toy each night to take up with him (water safe of course) and I love seeing what he picks each evening. On this particular night it was mega blocks! After bath I lather the kids with lotion and spend a good hour trying to wrangle them into their beds. The Eczema Balm has really been a lifesaver for Henry’s sensitive skin. While it hasn’t cleared the Keratosis Pilaris (it will never fully go away) it has calmed the bumps and stopped them from becoming worse or inflamed. The balm goes on thick, but not greasy, and really works to moisturize the affected area. Leotard Love

Is there anything cuter than a little girl in a leotard? The answer is no, there is not. Wearing leotards just for dance class is a thing of the past. Shops are popping up left and right that offer all kinds of options: flutter sleeve, tank, short sleeve, long sleeve, patterned, skirted, etc. There is an option for everyone and today I’m going to share my 3 favorite ways to style a leotard! Mishqua Bag Review

A few months ago I was introduced to Mishqua Handbags and Accessories by a friend. After visiting their website and looking through products it’s no wonder why I fell in love with everything they offer. Mishqua, named for the creator and owner, sells bags, scarves, sunglasses and fun temporary tattoos (perfect for a girls beach trip!)

The Merlot Satchel carries like a small handbag but can fit so much more. I recently brought it on my trip to Portland where it rained most of the time and the water didn’t affect the bag one bit. Less is definitely more when traveling and I didn’t want to bring along a big bulky bag especially when I wouldn’t be carrying sippy cups, wipes or diapers. I was able to fit my camera, makeup, water bottle and wallet. The color is that of a fine red wine and pairs well with everything in my closet. I tend to wear a lot of black and this bag adds just the right amount of color to any outfit without going overboard.

The craftsmanship on this bag is excellent. I’ve been using it non stop for the past 8 weeks and it’s held up wonderfully with no signs of wear or tear. It is made from vegan leather and features a beautiful floral lined interior which adds the perfect pop of color. There is also a zippered closure which is excellent if you’re carrying around a camera, iPad or other expensive items that you don’t want everyone seeing and it also protects valuables from nasty weather. Speaking of cameras and iPads, this bag can carry my Nikon, tablet, wallet, baby wipes. sunglasses and body splash and I still have room for more.

There are 3 exterior pockets: two on the front side and one in the back middle. I always keep my phone in the back one (I have the iPhone 6 Plus and it fits just fine) and smaller items which tend to get lost in a big section go in the front two pockets: chapstick, breath mints, hand sanitizer and sunglasses. There is also a detachable shoulder strap which I haven’t used yet but I love that the option is there.

Nom Nom Necklaces Review

Oh to be a teething baby. My heart goes out to all the little ones experiencing this. I can’t even imagine being in so much pain and not being able to express to someone how I feel. Poor Evelyn has SIX teeth coming in, include four molars, one on each side (top and bottom) of her mouth. Needless to say my usually happy baby has been pretty miserable. She wants to chew on everything from my toes to the couch. She also wants to be held. A lot. So even though we own several teethers and they do provide relief, it’s hard to hold her and the teethers while we are out and about because she will constantly drop them.

Little Standout Teethers

When I came across Little Standout on Instagram I knew I had to have some of their teethers for Evelyn. They were gracious enough to send me their top designs for a review. Confession: I have always hated teethers. Most I’ve seen are unappealing and the freezer ones with water are so annoying when they sweat. No wonder my kids have never liked any. Right off the bat I was drawn to the Little Standout teethers because they are not like any I’ve seen. The colors are so eye popping and fun and their shape and feel are perfect for baby senses. They are also extremely durable. My 3.5 year old son even plays with these when Evelyn isn’t around and he is not the most gentle creature. He loves pretending to take pictures of the family (but mostly himself) with the camera. Did I mention they are all dishwasher safe? Not only are they great teethers but they double as toys for Evelyn. I use the term toy loosely because at 13.5 months, she is mostly a roamer. She loves wandering around the play room and house exploring. Her new favorite game is picking things up and bringing them to me but actually refusing to let me take them from her. Aside from toys and tug o war, these really are great soothers for her poor little gums. We have been in the thick of the teething crisis. She has her top molars coming in on both sides, her sleep schedule is off and it seems like she is in pain for several hours throughout the day. I’ve been keeping one of these teethers in the freezer and giving it to her first thing in the morning since she’s been waking up crying out in pain.
