June & January Sibling Style {pt. 2}

With Fall just around the corner (fingers crossed) that means I’m already dreaming about Halloween and all things black and white. I know I’m not the only parent who starts planning their children’s costumes in August, right? RIGHT? As mentioned last week in my sibling style post, June & January has the best coordinating pieces for siblings. I’ve always loved black and white pieces since they can be worn with pretty much any color. When I saw the “Get Me A Taco” shirt on Instagram, I had to have it for Henry. It’s no secret that this boy loves Mexican food. The swing dress that Evelyn has on can easily transition into fall by being paired with a cardigan and tights. This 2T is a tad long on her now but that just means she can grow into it and wear it longer. June & January Sibling Style {pt 1}

Now that school is back in session for most I wanted to share some of my favorite staple pieces for boys and girls. June & January (formerly Little Hip Squeaks) has the best basics for babies and children. Their pieces are soft, comfortable and extremely stylish. I love all the patterns and bright colors and they are perfect for the playground and school. The lightweight cotton allows kids to move freely while remaining relaxed. What is also great about the majority of their items is that they are gender neutral, so you can save for babies you haven’t had yet 🙂 Having a son and a daughter, it can be difficult to find coordinating pieces for them, which I why June & January is my go to for staple pieces. The swing dress and lounge short are definitely my favorite right now and they pair so well together. Boho Baby Style

I’ve always loved the boho look for women and lately it seems like the trend has made it’s way down to toddler girls and babies. Trust me, I am not complaining. Monochrome Monday

Hello, August! It’s crazy how fast July went considering it’s one of the longer months. Henry starts school in one week and I am hoping this Atlanta heat starts to fade by months end. While I am looking forward to cooler temps I will miss all the adorable summer clothes. I love color coordinating the kids outfits while still making sure they maintain they’re own style. Lately, Henry loves to live in his pajamas all day long. Getting him changed into anything else is a challenge. I’ve found that lightweight, breathable clothes make him the most comfortable. These stripe harem shorts are made from the lightest cotton I’ve ever felt and are perfect for active toddler boys. Leotard Love

Is there anything cuter than a little girl in a leotard? The answer is no, there is not. Wearing leotards just for dance class is a thing of the past. Shops are popping up left and right that offer all kinds of options: flutter sleeve, tank, short sleeve, long sleeve, patterned, skirted, etc. There is an option for everyone and today I’m going to share my 3 favorite ways to style a leotard! My favorite shop for leotards is the Leotard Boutique. Their leotards come in every color, are adorable and fade resistant, and they are also 100% USA made! Here is the best part though: everything is under $20 which means you can order several styles without going into debt.

Option 1:

Wear alone and match with knee high socks (and preferably mary janes or moccasins). Perfect for a birthday party, lunch date or to just look extra cute. This soft mint color is by far my favorite.

Option 2:

Pair a leotard with jean shorts and jellies for those hot summer days that may include a trip to the zoo or a playdate with friends.

Patriotic Sibling Style

Happy Monday, friends! I hope all you ladies had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend, which started off the summer holiday season. In just a few short weeks, pools will be opening and family beach trips will be taking place. Look at this little ham of mine. He loves being silly lately when I take his picture. All I have to say is “Henry, DON’T smile” and he starts giggling and smiling like crazy. Now if I could only get his little sister to do the same. I forget that around the 16th month age my kids stop smiling and it lasts until about two. Great.

Henry’s tank is from Gap last year and I am pretty stoked that it still fits him. I usually buy a full size bigger than his current age and shirts and tanks last him well over a year. He is still 3 years old but has been wearing a 4t since his last birthday. You know my love for knee high baby socks so I had to pair some with this skirt. They definitely add a girly touch when your daughter is wearing Converse to match her brother!
