fivethingsfriday
I may be a little late to this ballgame, but I am in love with Brika. Have you heard of this site? They feature all authentic crafted items and a lot of exclusive pieces. They have the most adorable and unique finds and gifts, perfect for any occasion and price range. I know that Five Things Friday used to be sole Etsy finds but I feel like it’s time to broaden my picks. While I still love Etsy, I am finding a lot of people moving to StoreEnvy and getting their own websites. I notice that Brika sells a lot of hand made jewelry which I have yet to see anywhere else and also really cute baby items. Another plus is that all the makers of these goods are in the US and own their own small business. Check them out here. I think my favorite item is is the “Work Like a Captain” tee which seems super soft. I hope everyone has a great weekend! PS: Happy Friday the 13th! Our night will most likely be filled with scary movies and popcorn thanks to my husbands love of horror films. ugh.

Five Things Friday
Right around when Henry was 3 months old, my “baby” style for him started changing. Out went the Carter’s onesie sets, cutesy animal prints and matching hats and in came the leggings, cardigans and printed tee’s. Don’t get me wrong, Carter’s makes great/durable clothing and we have a lot of their plain basics, but the majority of their stuff just isn’t my style. I have been working on a post for months with my favorite baby and kids clothing shops but nearly every week I find more stores so I keep adding and adding. One day soon I will share my beloved shops because they are so unique. A favorite staple piece of mine is a great pair of leggings with funky prints that you don’t see at the mall stores. You can pair these with onesies, t shirts, cardigans, moccasins, converse, sweatshirts, etc. The list goes on. There is nothing that I’ve found that looks bad with leggings. Henry also has some plain black, grey, and striped leggings from the little girls section at Target! You would never know except for the fact the tag is pink. I love how most of the leggings out there are gender neutral so they can be saved for the next baby. Be sure to check back next week when I list my favorite baby & kid clothing shops. I hope you all have a great weekend ahead!

2. Charcoal Plus Leggings – $38

Five Things Friday – Hoop Art
I have been a fan of hoop art ever since my best friend gave me the one below (left) for a housewarming gift after my husband and I moved into our forever home. Since then I have been collecting them and dream of having a hoop art collection above a little reading nook. I feel like I could read a book a day if I had a space like that. Oh and no job, no husband and no baby. So that wouldn’t work. However the hoop art above the crib is something that could probably be in my future. Another friend of mine is (hopefully) going to start making custom name hoops with cute bunting. I am dying to get one for Henry because she is so talented and they look amazing. I also couldn’t narrow it down to just 5 favorites this week so I added an extra (and that was even hard). Do you guys have any that you love to add to the list?

Five Things Friday
I have obsessed over teepee’s for the longest time and have been waiting for the day when Henry can have one in his “big boy” room. That probably won’t be for another year or so but a Teepee is definitely on my Christmas wish list for him. (hint hint mom!) There are so many to choose from that I would love to put one in every room of the house, because sometimes adults need a place to relax right? I am currently under the weather with a major head cold and my head feels like it weighs 50 pounds. I hope everyone has a great weekend filled with lots of cool breezes and crisp air (if you live in Atlanta, that will not be happening).
4. Black and White Stripe – $115
5. Ruffle – $260

Five Things Friday – San Francisco
In honor of me and the hubs taking our anniversary trip to San Francisco, I bring you some SF finds via Etsy. We haven’t even been here a day and I am in love with the food, neighborhoods, and culture. Everyone we have met so far has been nothing but nice, welcoming and friendly. I’ve been shutter happy and have taken nearly 100 photos on our first day alone. I can’t wait to share about our trip! In the meantime, check out some of these items. I love the painted TOMS and wish they came in my size (with the Falcons logo of course!) I hope everyone has an amazing weekend planned!

Five Things Friday – Vintage Finds
I have always been a fan of vintage and antique items and I am most certain it comes from my grandmother (one of the many things her and I have in common). I’ve always been more of an “old soul” and have dreamt about what it would be like to live in the roaring ’50s. Since time traveling doesn’t exist, I’ll just buy old junk (as my husband likes to refer to my vintage finds). I don’t know about you, but it’s the best feeling walking into an antique store and coming out with something that has such a history behind it and that’s been around longer than you have. I just love how much character antique furniture items have! My friend recently bought some antique chess tables for her house and they look amazing. They add so much character to her house and I’m quite tempted to buy one myself!! I love mixing old and new, vintage and modern. If you don’t have any good local antique markets near you, Etsy and Ebay are filled with amazing finds. All the ones below are from Etsy. I am diggin’ on arrows lately so had to include them in this weeks roundup 🙂
1. Modern McCobb Style Desk – $450
3. Set of 5 Vintage Arrows – $33
4. Four Vintage French Bowls – $70
5. French Coffee Grinder Mill – $38
Five Things Friday
I am loving all things wood lately. Especially one of a kind pieces that makes each one a work of art. Wood pieces can fit in almost every decor and add an organic Earthy element to your home. They add character without being too over the top. I especially love the engraved bowling set which would make a great gift for a little boy. Also, those pink and maple shades? I may need those to wear around San Francisco 🙂 I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend planned. xx
