Living The Good Life

Hot days are officially behind us here in Georgia which means we can actually enjoy being outdoors. Luckily our backyard is super spacious and kid friendly and Henry & Evelyn love to run around playing pretend. I had been on the lookout for something that could replace the outdoor water toys now that the temps are cooling down. It can be hard keeping kids entertained in the off-season and I was so excited when I stumbled upon this VW Camper Play Tent by The Monster Factory.

This adorable indoor/outdoor tent is perfect for my kids (ages 4 and almost 2). It easily folds up and fits nicely in a round tire shaped bag and is extremely lightweight. When we have it inside, they love to put everything they can find in it and make it their own little fort. They throw pillows, blankets, 500 different toys and even the cat into the tent and there is still room for more. The material is waterproof, fire retardant and has UV protection when using outdoors, making it ideal for the beach. The price point is very reasonable and how cute would any of these colors look sitting under the Christmas Tree?

You know I love coordinating the kids without being too matchy and these adorable The Good Life tees from Funky & Little are perfect for playtime. They are super soft, unisex, and black and white so they live up to my monochrome dreams. Evelyn is also wearing her brothers old Adidas sneakers and I am so glad I saved them. Who knew they could look so cute on a girl? I might have to get some Adidas Ultraboost sneakers for her next!

Little Red Riding Hood & The Big Bad Wolf

October has officially been the fastest month of the year. I cannot believe today is Halloween. We’ve done so many fun things this month and it’s so true that having kids makes the holidays that more fun. For the Henry & Evelyn’s duo costume this year, I chose Little Red Riding Hood & The Big Bad Wolf. It was so much fun collecting pieces to make the costumes complete. Henry’s amazing wolf hat is from Etsy as is Evelyn’s apron but everything else was found at local stores (Target mostly). This is the costume I’ve been most excited about and I love the way it turned out. What are your kids being for Halloween this year?

October Favorites

October is undoubtedly my favorite month of the year, mostly because Halloween is my favorite Holiday. I decorate the last night of September so that I can enjoy the Halloween decor all month long. My house is currently decked out in all things black, white, purple, and orange. The weather in Atlanta is finally cooling off so it’s been nice being able to enjoy the outdoors again. With a new month comes new favorites, and I’m excited to share some things I’ve been loving lately.

You know how much I obsess over June & January basics. They make the most amazing pieces so that your kids can coordinate without being too matchy {see more here and here}. Their black and white pieces are perfect for October.

I really look forward to transitioning from my bright summer bag into a fall bag with a softer color. This peach hobo goes great with all the neutral colors I wear during the cooler months.

Fall baking and eating is a must in my house. Give me anything apple or pumpkin flavored and I’ll be happy. I am dying to make this donut milkshake and these pumpkin cinnamon rolls. We visited an apple farm last weekend and came back with over 40 apples. I’m loving an Earth tone lip color. I have several friends who swear by LipSense so I finally gave them a shot. They have a vast selection of colors to choose from and my favorite so far has been the Pink Champagne. It goes nicely with my skin tone without being too overpowering. This pumpkin candle has been burning non-stop in my house. The smell is not too strong and these candles last forever. They have the best fall scents and the Halloween packaging is so cute.

I know you have all seen the adorable Cat & Jack line at Target for kids and I cannot rave enough about the pieces. The prints and patterns are so unique and fun and I love that the clothes have a 1-year warranty. June & January Sibling Style {pt. 2}

With Fall just around the corner (fingers crossed) that means I’m already dreaming about Halloween and all things black and white. I know I’m not the only parent who starts planning their children’s costumes in August, right? RIGHT? As mentioned last week in my sibling style post, June & January has the best coordinating pieces for siblings. I’ve always loved black and white pieces since they can be worn with pretty much any color. When I saw the “Get Me A Taco” shirt on Instagram, I had to have it for Henry. It’s no secret that this boy loves Mexican food. The swing dress that Evelyn has on can easily transition into fall by being paired with a cardigan and tights. This 2T is a tad long on her now but that just means she can grow into it and wear it longer. June & January Sibling Style {pt 1}

Now that school is back in session for most I wanted to share some of my favorite staple pieces for boys and girls. June & January (formerly Little Hip Squeaks) has the best basics for babies and children. Their pieces are soft, comfortable and extremely stylish. I love all the patterns and bright colors and they are perfect for the playground and school. The lightweight cotton allows kids to move freely while remaining relaxed. What is also great about the majority of their items is that they are gender neutral, so you can save for babies you haven’t had yet 🙂 Having a son and a daughter, it can be difficult to find coordinating pieces for them, which I why June & January is my go to for staple pieces. The swing dress and lounge short are definitely my favorite right now and they pair so well together. Monochrome Monday

Hello, August! It’s crazy how fast July went considering it’s one of the longer months. Henry starts school in one week and I am hoping this Atlanta heat starts to fade by months end. While I am looking forward to cooler temps I will miss all the adorable summer clothes. I love color coordinating the kids outfits while still making sure they maintain they’re own style. Lately, Henry loves to live in his pajamas all day long. Getting him changed into anything else is a challenge. I’ve found that lightweight, breathable clothes make him the most comfortable. These stripe harem shorts are made from the lightest cotton I’ve ever felt and are perfect for active toddler boys.
