Easy Valentine’s

This year Henry is way more into giving out Valentine’s cards than he was last year. We went to Target and Hobby Lobby, just the two of us, and he picked out his box and cards to give to his friends. (He chose Paw Patrol of course). The box came blank with a cut out already for cards from Hobby Lobby. It was much easier than last year when apparently I didn’t know these existed. Henry loved decorating with assorted stickers and he told me where to place the letters and I glued them on. We will be using this for his school and playgroup parties.
We made two sets of Valentine’s since he is going to two parties this week. For his classmates we assembled boy and girl bags. Everything came from Target, of course, and included sunglasses, stickers, tattoos, coloring pads and crayons. I am a party bag hoarder so I had all the bags already. The berry baskets are from my favorite online store, Shop Sweet Lulu.

For his playgroup we did something similar and separated boys and girls. The boys and girls got the same goodies as his classmates. Henry loved stuffing all the goody bags for his friends and was so excited. He would say all their names afterwards with such a big smile on his face. “This one is for my best friend Roman!” and “This one is for my best buddy Gavin!” buy neurontin online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/neurontin.html no prescription

My mommy friends are each getting the sugar scrub I made last week. I added a little gift tag from the Target dollar spot.

Henry’s teacher also got the sugar scrub, some pencils, candy, tissues and a teacher emergency kit.
Henry is at such a fun age this year and he is really getting into all the holidays.

Our Valentine’s Day Weekend

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. It’s way more fun now that I have kids and can channel my inner craftiness and have a real reason to buy red and pink heart decorations starting after Christmas 🙂 Henry had his Valentine’s Day party with our playgroup friends on the 13th. Thanks to Pinterest, I found a super easy Valentine favor to make. I used this free printable and bubbles from the Dollar Store (a 3 pack for a buck, so cheap). The bubble label was printed on regular printer paper and thick enough to cover the existing bubble labels, so I didn’t have to remove each one. Then I tied each bubble with a tag and voila! done. Such an easy and cute favor. And believe me when I say this … all kids love bubbles. You can’t go wrong.

For his favor box, I used a box from Target that had some fun tattoos in it. There was already a cut out in the front and since my first try at making a box turned out like crap, this was my only option. It was a tad on the smaller side though which I need to remember for next year since a lot of his Valentine’s were too large to fit in the opening.

Saturday morning I got up with both kids so Jan could sleep in (which didn’t last that long, he was up within an hour). Henry helped me make coffee and red velvet heart shaped pancakes with cream cheese frosting (but mostly he just stood cautiously in the kitchen corner while the hand blender was going). I also added some pink food coloring to his milk and set out a few goodies for him since it was a holiday. He was so sweet, waiting patiently with all this yumminess in front of him so I could snap a quick picture. This lasted maybe 5 seconds before he got down to business: eating, making a mess and opening his new crayons, cars and paint.

This was the outfit he wore to the party. How funny is this shirt? Also, I love his little smile lately. The gap between his teeth and his scrunched up eyes are just the cutest.

On Saturday night after both kids were in bed, we had our annual fondue dinner, which we have done every year since we’ve been married and we only make this on Valentine’s Day. It really is something fun and special to look forward to.
And because no holiday is complete without holiday pictures:

Until next year! <3

Five Things Friday

Can you believe Halloween is just 6 days away? Where did October go? As much I love this cold weather and the holiday season, it would be nice for time to slow down. My baby is growing up too fast and will be 16 months old on Monday. No me gusta. Anyway, since this is the last Five Things Friday post before Halloween, I thought I would share my five ten favorite Halloween ideas! Come on, could I really only pick five? And seriously, I cannot wait for Henry to ride a bike so we can do the ET Halloween costume (ok, I can wait).

It’s the last weekend of October, how are you going to celebrate?

Four Years!

Today marks four years since our first date (!!!) While we don’t go all out with a celebration, we do acknowledge what a special day this was four years ago. Our first date was at Bistro VG in Roswell, GA (where we ended up having our rehearsal dinner as well). The food is amazing, the old house turned restaurant is decorated beautifully and the atmosphere is so relaxed. We usually go back every year, but this year with the baby was tough, especially on a weeknight. I decided last minute to make a little DIY craft, courtesy of Pinterest of course! Find my inspiration here
Here are the supplies I used:
– picture frame with glass, at least a 5×7 size
– scissors
– dry erase markers
– cute scrapbook paper or tissue paper
After using the tissue paper, I noticed the dry erase markers I bought didn’t really show up. So I switched out the tissue for some pretty paper from Sugarboo Designs! Here is the final version:
I wish I would have had more time to work on it, but it was very last minute. Next time I will find some different paper and print the “I love you because” in a fun font. Jan and I decided to put it in our bedroom so we could both write on it 🙂
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes <3
