BENEFITS OF USING A HUMIDIFIER

This year one of our goals is to get our family and home healthy. We’ve been swapping out harmful toxic cleaners for a safer alternative, adding probiotics to our daily routine, and most recently we’ve put humidifiers back in our bedrooms. The first humidifier we ever owned was Elliot the Elephant from Crane which we received as a baby gift for Henry. I kept it in his room for years and I truly believe it helped keep him healthy overall. Evelyn was a winter baby so having a humidifier in her room during those early newborn months was crucial to warding off sickness, especially since Henry was in daycare and bringing home so many germs. Winter air is dry air and humidifiers put moisture back into the air, with benefits! Did you know that having a humidifier at the right levels can help reduce illness and flu viruses? A 2013 study showed that increasing humidity levels to 43 percent or above significantly reduced the ability of airborne viruses to cause flu infections. As a mother to two young children, anything that can benefit their health is a must for me. Humidifiers can provide relief for those who suffer from dry, cracking skin or chapped lips. They’re also a good method of improving the air quality in your home, making it easier for those with breathing difficulty such as pediatric asthma sufferers.

Crane makes humidifiers for every decor and style. Their line of children’s humidifiers are so adorable (hence their name) and kids will love all the different animals. Evelyn is obsessed with cows so naturally we have that humidifier in her room. It was also the first animal noise she was able to recognize {heart melted}. You can find Crane humidifiers on their website and nationwide at Babies R Us, Target and Buy Buy Baby. Crane doesn’t just make humidifiers for children, they also make them for your home. If you’re looking for a stylish option, you need to go with the Grey smartDROP. The exterior is sleek and modern and looks more like a piece of art than a humidifier. If you’re new to humidifiers, here are some things your should know. All humidifiers should be placed on water-proof (non wood) surface at least 2 feet off the floor for best results. They can not be used with essential oils. This can damage the humidifier. All humidifiers should be emptied daily and cleaned weekly to keep them running efficiently. Today I have partnered with Crane to give away your choice of the Adorable Cow or Adorable Frog humidifier! These are the best humidifiers I’ve come across for babies and kids rooms. They run 24 hours on whisper quiet and its cool mist increases moisture in the air for easier breathing and a good night’s sleep. They relieve cough, cold, and flu symptoms, as well as nasal congestion, dry cough, sinus irritation, nose bleeds, and dry skin and hair. I love that it’s a non-medicated alternative to over the counter cough and cold medicine because who wants to give their babies medicine if it’s not 100% needed? You can read more about these amazing humidifiers here and here. Entering is super easy and fast! Trust me, you need one of these in your life. 7. Great advice! I am looking forward to sharing this information with my brother and sister-in-law who have just welcomed their first baby. As teachers, they are exposed to a lot of germs, so reducing the chance of their little girl of getting sick by over 40% is pretty amazing! Thank you 🙂

  8. These are so cute but my biggest issue with humidifiers is the ones I’ve used have been getting moldy if I don’t clean them EVERYDAY. Have you had any issues with yours? I NEED to get ones for my kids rooms after we threw our last two out but it makes me so nervous.

  18. Would love to win one of these humidifiers as we have gone through so many with our little one, she has a constant cough. Funding the right one is always a struggle for us, so I would love to try this!
